Celebrating Indonesia’s 79th Birthday at SD Plus Gembala Baik

August 19th, SD Plus Gembala Baik organized a special event to celebrate Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day. The celebration was attended by all students from grades 1 to 6, teachers, and parents. The event took place in the schoolyard, which was decorated with red and white flags, creating a festive atmosphere for the day.

The event began at 7:00 AM with the singing of the national anthem by the 6th graders, followed by an opening speech from the principal, Sr. Tanti Yosepha, CP., M.Pd. After that, performance by Cherish who sang the song entitled Bendera. Not only that, there was also a spectacular dance performance by Nevan, Tio, and Clara. The students then participated in various traditional games, such as the cracker eating contest, cardboard ball race, cardboard ball relay, and the hat hooking game. Each game was set up in different corners of the yard, allowing students to engage in the activities simultaneously. These games were not only fun but also helped to teach students the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and national pride.

The Independence Day celebration ended around 11:30 AM with the distribution of prizes to the winners and a group photo session.
